The Marriage Game-Situation No. 1-Scene 5

by

It is Monday evenings. Joann (Alex's wife) is in the couples bedroom. Joann is lying in bed naked with a bed sheet and thin blanket covering her. The bedroom environment consists of a few lit candles and soft music playing in the background. While Joann is relaxing in bed, she reaches for the phone. She starts to dial Jeff's phone number. (The phone is ringing)

Jeff (picking up his phone)
Hello

Joann
Yes hello, may I speak to Jeff Please!

Jeff
This is he, may I ask whom I am speaking to

Joann
You are speaking to Alex's wife.

Jeff
Does Alex's wife have a name?

Joann
My name is Joann.

Jeff (very surprised)
Joann, the wife of Alex, what can I do for you? Joann before you answer that question, how did you get my number?

Joann
I got your number from the caller I.D. I wrote it down the other night when you call for my husband. Then I erased the number off the caller I.D.

Jeff
Is your husband aware that you have my phone number?

Joann
No he is not aware.

Jeff
Is he aware that you and I are on the phone together right now?

Joann
No he isn't! I sent him to the supermarket to pick us up some groceries. It takes him all day to pick up a few groceries. He will be back in a few hours.

Jeff (speaking seriously)
I'll be honest with you, wife of Alex. I'm not really comfortable having an intimate conversation with another man wife. Alex is dear to me. I do not view him as an employee. I view him like a son.

Joann (speaking sarcastically)
But if he don't do his job, you will fire him like an employee.

Jeff (slightly angered by her comment)
Wife of Alex, what is it that you want?

Joann
I have notice that my husband is changing since he got that temporary job at your company.

Jeff
How is he changing?

Joann
For one thing he is starting to mouth back at me. He never did that before. He is now asking me to show him proof of bills being paid. He never did that before either. He just recently opened up a checking account. He is buying nice clothes for himself now. And he doesn't spend all his money on me anymore. My husband is changing since he got that temporary job at your company.

Jeff
I don't see a problem. You act as if your husband is a woman. All I see is a person trying to take care of himself. Those changes you mentioned are positive changes. I don't see how your marriage could be affected in a negative way. I can see you being offended by him asking you to show proof that you are paying the bills with his hard earned money. But that is what happened when you take money from people. They have a right to ask you what you are doing with their money.

Joann
No he doesn't have a right. I am his wife he should trust me.

Jeff
Do you trust him with your money?

Joann
I don't give a man money. I am sorry. A man is not a man if he have to ask a woman for some money.

Jeff
Alex is not just any ordinary man. Alex is your husband.

Joann (speaking with slight anger)
I already said I don't give men money. What more do you want?

Jeff
Well stop complaining then. What you are seeing is the transformation of Alex turning into you. Alex sees that you don't care so why should he.

Joann
He should care cause he's my husband. His job is to care for his household. I am apart of his household.

Jeff
O now it's his household. I was under the impression that it was your household. I was under the impression that you wear the pants and he wears the skirts. But since it is his household you should have no problems with him asking you questions concerning payment of bills. Since it is his household.

Joann
I don't think you understand me. The husband is supposed to be using his money for the household only. Not be buying nice clothes for himself and opening up checking accounts saving money.

Jeff
I understand you very well. You sound like a scared woman. You see that your husband is starting to use his head for more than just a hat rack. And that frightens you. And now you are looking for someone to blame. Why don't you blame yourself?

Joann
I am not the blame. I am his wife. I blame that work environment he is in. I wish he quit that job. He quits everything else. He can't do anything right.

Jeff
He is doing something right. He is working and making money. He is learning how to take care of himself. He feels good about himself, I'm sure.

Joann
Like I said he don't do anything right. That money he makes I don't see it.

Jeff
Do you show him your?

Joann
I don't show any man my money. I don't need any man counting my money. When a man knows you got money he starts to put his hand out.

Jeff
And so does a woman

Joann
But a man is supposed to give a woman money. That is what my mother taught me. You don't let a man reach for his pants until he gives you some money. He doesn't walk out that door unless you got money in your hand.

Jeff
Interesting wife of Alex, very interesting... Do you have a job?

Joann
Yes I do. I make more money than my husband does. He brings home chicken crap compared to what I bring home.

Jeff
You refer to his money as chicken crap. But you love that chicken crap. You will fight to the death over that chicken crap. You married a man you don't give a dam about over that chicken crap. You prostitute yourself over that chicken crap, don't you?

Joann (speaking with anger in her voice)
Don't call me a prostitute. I do what I got to do to keep my husband paying those bills.

Jeff
So stop complaining then. Whatever a person is sowing he or she shall reap. What comes around goes around.

Joann (very angered by the comment)
Look let me get to the point. I would like you to stop talking to my husband. You got my husband sounding like a textbook. You got my husband starting to think something of himself. He is also starting to think less of me as well. I wish you just leave my husband alone and stay out of married people's business. Just because your marriages did not work, do not interfere with mind, okay. You are barking up the wrong tree.

Jeff
You are definitely a sarcastic, abusive and scared woman. But your head games are not effective on me. They work on your husband because he refuses to see what you are. I see what you are.

Joann (speaking with a liar's tongue)
My husband said you're a freaking know it all. That you know everything. But you don't impress me.

Jeff
I disagree. I do impress you. That is why you are talking to me behind your husband's back. You are trying to feel me out for your next assault. Like I told you, your head games are not effective on me. They work on your husband because he refuses to see what you are. He knows what you are; he just refuses to accept it. Maybe he's delaying his broken heart who knows.

Joann (yelling at Jeff)
Just leave my husband alone. Get a life of your own. Stop living your life through my husband. You are not my husband and my husband is not you. Stop trying to mold my husband. You are making my marriage difficult. My husband was very likeable before he got that temporary job. Now he's thinking more, reading books and talking to me less. I want my husband back. So leaves him alone okay.

Jeff
When Alex is ready to end our association then I will leave him alone. Until then I do whatever I want to, Okay. You don't have authority over me. You have authority over your husband. You talk that foolishness to him. He will listen to it. I will laugh at it because you're foolish. You are a desperate person reaching for air.

Joann (speaking mildly softly)
Could we change the subject for a moment?

Jeff
Sure. We can end this conversation if you want to.

Joann
Does my husband have my pictures around his desk?

Jeff
Yes he does all ten of them.

Joann
What do you think of my pictures?

Jeff
What do you mean by that?

Joann
Do you like my pictures? Do you like what you see?

Jeff
I don't know if I should answer those questions.

Joann (speaking softly)
Come on tell me what you think about my pictures?

Jeff
Okay... I can see why your husband tolerates you. You got the phattest buttocks I ever seen. Your buttocks are a combination of a donkey's buttocks and a horse's buttocks. Your breasts are large, firm and squeezable, definitely suckable. You have big nipples as well. You can see your nipples through your clothes. Your face is okay, nothing to write home about. You look nice in your clothes. You are very stylish. You wear nice hairstyles also. You satisfied, now you know what I think about your pictures. All ten of them!

Joann (speaking with a sweet voice)
You wish you could be my husband, don't you? You wish you could touch me, touch all over me. You wish you could lick me, lick all over me. You wish you could smell me, don't you? You wish you could grind on my buttocks don't you? And squeeze my buttocks. You wish you could lie next to me in bed don't you? You wish you could take a shower with me don't you? Don't you wish you could pay my bills?

Jeff
All those things you just mentioned; I can do very easily. It is just a matter of time before you share yourself with someone else. You have already started the process. You just don't know it yet. I just hope Alex can see it coming... Is there anything else you want?

Joann (speaking softly)
Why are you angry with me? Did I offend you? Are you getting aroused?

Jeff
Listen I have to go okay. Thank you for the phone call. Tell Alex I said hello. Goodbye! (Jeff hangs up the phone very angry. Joann hangs up the phone smiling)

World's Most Romantic Proposal Also One Of The Cheapest

Popping the Question

When most guys (and gals) begin planning their marriage proposal, they instantly think of limousines, hot air balloons, fancy dinners and expensive champagne.

The RoMANtic's Guide to Popping the Question is a new book that challenges the myth that one has to open their wallet to show what is in ones heart. A nationwide search for the most romantic proposals brought in over 7300 stories and the best 101 showed credit cards and bank accounts have little impact on romance.

The grand prize winner was a guy who creatively used a $10 piece of hardware and a $7 bathroom fixture to pop the question to his girlfriend. The other winning stories invested a lot of heart and sentiment into their proposals, but not a lot of cash.

Author Michael Webb, who is a popular talk show guest, has long been teaching men and women how to get back to the romance of days gone by. The best part about Webb's book is that it will actually save you money on your proposal by showing ways you can express your love without opening your wallet.
