Popular Manchester Dating Locations

by Steve Davis

Manchester is a fantastic city for dating. It is the home of British pop, boasts many famous areas of world-cuisine and has a diverse and extensive population as well as a fascinating history. To identify any particular dating trends of the city is difficult - it is too varied a place to be able to pin down any general traits which apply to all two and a half million of its inhabitants. Like any metropolis, meeting people is easy as you are face-to-face with them almost constantly. The parks, the shopping centres, the clubs, the trams, the bars all become possible places to find a special new friend. Online Dating in Manchester is also hugely popular. Other than these general trends, what distinctly defines the Manchester dating scene are the places where couples always seem to visit and have consequently become unmissable dating locations.

The Manchester Art Gallery
Many of the more cultural couples can be found strolling around the Manchester Art Gallery. With objects and artefacts from across six centuries and no entrance fee charge it is small wonder that the museum is an addictive dating location. The accompanying bookshop and café seal the deal for a varied and instructive day out.

The Wheel of Manchester
This wheel, inspired by the London Eye, has added a new and intriguing dimension to Manchester's horizon. Seeing the city from a different level has certainly proved an appealing idea for a date, or part of a date as the journey only lasts for thirteen minutes. For a truly romantic experience, couples can rent private capsules and time their ascent for sunset.

Rusholme's Curry Mile
Rusholme is known nationwide for its high concentration of Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani restaurants, earning it the title 'the Curry Mile.' These restaurants draw many couples from all over the city who are eager to try some genuine world cuisine.

The Northern Quarter
Somewhere between Piccadilly, Victoria and Ancoats there is a highly bohemian and lively area known as the Northern Quarter. The artistic atmosphere, the many quirky shops to browse through combined with its friendly bars and cafes form the perfect criteria for a date. Affleck's Place is a particular attraction: with its three storeys of 'Camdenesque' stalls and shops couples can get lost in there together for hours.

Chinatown
This area which is dedicated to oriental cuisine is the largest Chinatown in the UK and is located near Faulkner Street. The traditional Chinese buildings and décor certainly make it a quaint and romantic location. This is to say nothing of the food, which is fantastic on the whole and succeeds in bringing in many culinary tourists.

There is certainly no shortage of things to do in Manchester, especially on dates and these are only a few examples of where couples choose to congregate. Whether they've met though online dating, through friends, on holiday or in the local pub, Manchester certainly is bursting with romance.
