No matter if you're in Spain or South Africa, people will still be getting married or writing soppy romantic songs about each other. But is there a country that stands out from the rest when it comes to matters of the heart? Here are a few interesting facts that reveal how people live and love in different parts of the world... Most passionate...A survey conducted by Durex recently revealed that Grecians have more sexual encounters than any other country. Those in Greece had an average of 138 intimate experiences over a 12-month period - well above the global average of 103 - and Croatia claimed second place with 134. Most technologically minded...The use of dating sites to find love is now immensely popular in most countries worldwide. 40 million North Americans visit online dating sites, which is a whopping 40% of US singles. Europe isn't far behind, with 38.2 million logging on each month. Italy has the most online daters here at 3.3 million visits a month, followed by Spain (2.12m), Germany (2.09m) and finally the UK in fourth position with 1.71 million visitors a month. Least shallow...A poll by Harlequin Enterprises has revealed that Portugal has the least shallow men. Over half of those questioned claimed that intelligence is an enormous turn-on, which in most cases will trump good looks. On the other end of the spectrum, Australians came out as the shallowest men in the world - no surprises there! Lowest divorce rates...According to recent statistics, Sri Lanka has the lowest divorce rate in the world, followed by Brazil, then Italy, then Mexico. Only 0.15 per 1,000 people get divorced in Sri Lanka. The average global divorce rate was 1.3 per every 1,000. The US had the highest divorce rate and the UK had the fourth highest. Whether this actually reflects on the happiness of the marriages or how easy it is to get divorced in these countries remains to be seen! Most marriages...The US also won the prize for the most marriages. Russia came second, with the Czech Republic sliding into third. The UK ended up in 10th position. Bizarrely, Sweden came in last place, with the lowest number of nuptials taking place there. Most promiscuous...Although Greece might be the most passionate, Turkey is in the lead in terms of promiscuity. Here, people have an average of 14.5 sexual partners, according to a survey by Durex. Australia came in second with 13.3. Most beautiful...If you base beauty on the number of 'Miss World' wins a country has managed, then the UK apparently have the most gorgeous women on the planet! They share the title with Venezuela and India, as each country has had 5 'Miss World' victories apiece. Whether you're online dating London singles, or getting married in Russia, you'll find that love is everywhere.
